OK, just cut down adult pj pattern to make child wolf costume… Everything turned out great except torso about 2 inches too short…errgh.
I have never had any lessons on pattern adjusting or really even sewing for that matter. So I was just kind of winging it. Need suggestions on how to fix. I guess if nothing else can make a band for the middle? I would hate to have the seams around the middle though. Extra piece for crotch/bottom? I also really don’t want to take out the zipper if I don’t have to. (Hmmph…lazy sewing)
This is the pattern I used (6475). Zips down front. Probably not attaching hood as my child has werewolf hat and husky dog hat she wants to wear with it.
We have had some pretty awesome moments of magic with Disney. Two stories come to mind immediately.
The first was when our family went to Disneyland together. It was my mother, my twins, my brother and myself. My brother -who was in his early 30’s at the time, was chosen to do the sword in the stone ceremony. That was hilarious. He did not pull the sword from the stone, but we all had a Disney magic moment none the less.
The second was actually the same trip…we were checking out the little art gallery. We sort of felt like we were in a hidden place at Disneyland while we were there. It seemed tucked away and secret, and aside from one other customer it was just us inside. We were quietly admiring all the artwork, while a customer was making a large purchase from the shopkeeper. Apparently the sale included gifts with purchase. The customer came over to us and asked me if it would be OK if she gave my children the gifts she received. I said yes, and thanked her. (I am pretty sure this person was a celebrity.) Each of my boys received a special Mickey Mouse 45th anniversary coin. How cool was that? They were so happy. They were about 3 at the time and the coins were very special treasures. She may never know what a joy it was to the boys to receive those special coins. I still think about that trip and the kindness she showed the boys with her gift. I makes me smile every time.
Here is a link to a little story about the gallery… http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2012/07/the-disney-gallery-a-hidden-treasure-celebrates-25-years-at-disneyland-park/
