Idea was a 60’s dress … I just loved the fabric. I made this for my daughter…I doubt she will ever wear it. My mom suggested a wide belt to go with it. I think if I tried to do this again I would make it sleeveless. Pattern was McCalls 6022.
Carnegie at the Mirage…Do not miss this if you go to Vegas!
My hubby was always telling me “you have never tasted good pastrami”. I was like “whatever, pastrami is lame”. We had lunch at Carnegie Las Vegas…holy moly! Now I understand what he meant. That was the best pastrami I have ever had in my life. (Husband laughing in back ground…”I told you, you would like it”.)I would never eat those weird pickles again, they were super gross, but I would drive the six hours to Vegas just to eat that sandwich and turn right around and come home perfectly happy.
Highest rating from me for Vegas food! Thumbs up! 5 Stars!
We stayed at Treasure Island hotel Vegas for Christmas, so my daughter had to have a pirate Christmas outfit right. (Photo taken in front of hotel pirate ship) Designs from (my favorite place…) www.urbanthreads.com. We sewed the skull onto the skirt instead of directly embroidering it on so that the skirt will be reversible. She really liked the way it looked inside out when we were making it, so I thought …why not make it reversible. Other side has red tulle over the green skirt. She loves it. She wanted to wear the shirt to school….no can do, I don’t think the school would appreciate the rum bottle toting Santa. The shirt is either from Wal-mart or dollar store. Less than 4 dollars for sure. We sewed on the embroidery design and added bias tape around edges of sleeves to match skirt.
